I currently only have 2 chickens and we want to get more this year but the very sad news is...

I lost my chicken motivation years ago and never regained it. No chicken maths! No chicken projects!

Now I am trying very hard to get the motivation and enjoyment from it again. This is in random rambling because I have no clue what you would even post for this subject but I am sure the expert chicken enablers will work it out! And it doesn't really matter if it goes "off topic"

Recently rats have managed to tunnel into the quail runs, thankfully we had very few casualties. Currently the chickens are in one of the quail runs and the quails are in the chicken run. I am planning on digging up the quail runs floor and putting wire in (it has a wire skirt already) but I currently do not have the physical strength to actually do it 🙁

Better news we finally put up a shed to turn into a chicken/quail coop. It will have a partition and be attach to 2 separate runs. It still does needs some important things done and the interior planned

The best way to scratch my chicken itch is to sneak in to our local TSC. I say "sneak" deliberately because my kids won't allow me to go in unsupervised during Chick Days. They're afraid I'll come home with more ... and they're often correct!
I am sure if we had something like that here my mother would come back with plenty 🤣

I feel ya. I had lost the urge for several years and we were down to our last 2 girls. Our local feed store got in some BCM chicks and that sparked my chicken math again, after years of "meh". I think part of it may also be the cathartic dopamine hit of chillin' with my peeps in these stressful times.

Maybe it will awaken after some time off for you as well.

I hope so! It's just hard to keep up with everything that needs doing without the motivation. Looking through byc is helping a bit
