Shy Chicks

My new chicks, especially my Ameraucanas are still so shy at almost four weeks. Two of my Barred Rocks are so friendly – they can’t wait to jump up on me when I open the brooder. My Ameraucanas still freak out when I stick my hand in to feed and water them. Are these birds just timid in nature? I want these girls to be sweet and friendly like my older birds –

I have found that mine are more timid then other breeds.
