My little silkie rooster who's just breaching 5 or so months, isn't the average rooster. I've read things from lovable to mean, but my cockerel doesn't fit either. He's so shy! He's scared of people, and even the other hens besides his surrogate mother.

So my question is - how do I give him some confidence without him becoming aggressive?

He knows each person in my family and knows who he doesn't like. It's quite funny really. My sister who's obsessed with 'how cute and fluffy' he is and always tries to pick him up and corner him, always pecks her and can get very rough. He's only nibbled my father once or twice because my father likes to reach down and pet him instead of picking him up. He's only bitten me once, so I tapped his beak and held him for a few minutes and he's never bitten me again.

I'd love for some tips on how to make him less scared of people one step at a time and get used to being held. I can't see him ever becoming aggressive so that's the least of my concerns. Not being so scared is first priority!

Other then that, I was looking to you guys to see if any of you have taught any tricks to your poultry! My chickens come when called, and go into their coops by command, but I've seen come people train their chickens to play dead, or teach ducks to 'dance' (flutter out wings) on command!

I wanted to know if you guys and your little friends have any talents or tricks!
