Hi,
New to Forum... we "inherited" a pair of Bourbon Red turkeys from someone who lost their home in the Sonoma California Fires... we now have 4 poults.... 2 males and two females. I have friends who would each like a "pair" for meat and for eggs, but if they want to breed these siblings as well is that OK? I do not know enough about breeding sibling turkeys to know it this is safe... and I want them to be fully informed...

Welcome. Yes it is fine. Goats/pigs no.. Turkeys yes.

It is best not to breed siblings together. It is better to bred offspring back to the parents than it is to breed brother to sister.

It is also not a good idea to have a pair of turkeys. It is far better for the hen's sake to have multiple hens for one tom. I personally try to keep at least 4 to 5 hens for one tom but have seen reports of excellent fertility with a single tom and ten to thirteen hens.

There is a lady on another totally different board that i visit that swears up and down that fowl breeding back to family members is just completely incest and you will always have bad deformities... i just shake my noggin and laugh. This is also a person who is a nut. She inspect every single bird and turd multiple times a day and if somethin is different she is treatin for some gawd awful somethin or other..... cause it is gonna keel over and die now right now. This person obviously has nothin better to do but gah....
