Sick 5 yo hen looking droopy, any ideas? - pics included

When I have birds like this it is because they are on the verge of death.
Telling people that their bird is "on the verge of death, does NOT help.

Just a pointer.

I have a 7 wk old that has always had a droopy look, Today, i went into the coop and noticed his/her head is tucked up under its breast and was walking backwards briefly. When lifting the head it seems as though its stiff or has tension in it. Im not sure what to do. Please help! Thank u!
Sorry, I'm not very familiar with this. Maybe do a search on Wry Neck?

Has she been laying any eggs? That is a huge question.
she could be egg binding. but if she not been laying... It could very well be that she is laying eggs internally.

Do you give your hens oyster shells for calcium?
If not, I would give your girl a TUM. The extra calcium will help to get things moving if there is an egg stuck. Try to keep her eating and drinking.

Something to consider.

I will say a prayer for your little hen.

If she stopped laying around the year 2-3 mark then I doubt egg peritonitis?
(hybrid chickens tend not to lay much after that), chickens have an annoying habit of not showing illness until they're close to the end.
I have to agree that when they get like this it's not good, just pamper her a little, put her on a hot water bottle indoors (don't overheat her) make sure she doesn't have direct contact with the water bottle. Try to feed her a little with porridge (made with water not milk), maybe some poultry tonic and a bit of live yoghurt.

still praying for your little hen.
Never give up, I had a hen that looked like this, I thought for sure she would not last the morning. Nope I was wrong. My little hen made it and is healthy now.
I am sorry, I know this is so hard.

This is what I call the sick chicken look she could just be run down or being picked on. The chances are I'd say that she isn't laying but don't hold me to it. Keep her comfortable and quiet and hope for the best....

Hold the neck up and massage it my chicks really like that and it releases tension.
Maybe that helps!

Regrettably, we had to put her down. The hatchery we baught her from said this one was not formed properly in the shell. It could not hold its head up,and started to walk backwards and dragging its head on the ground. =( needless to say, it was a sad day at the farm. Thanks everyone for your comments and prayers =)
