Hello, guys.
So, I've had a bad hatching year. I started incubating eggs, at different ages. When they were ready to hatch, I put them in the "Hatching Incubator". Once or twice I put them in early, which resulted in them dying. Out of four dozen so far, only 4 out of 8 that hatched out, lived, while approximately a dozen is left in the incubator. My dog got into my hatching incubator and took a duckling, but that can't be helped now. I learned my lesson. So, anyway. I had five ducklings a week or two ago, and overnight one died. He was just stretched out on his side. I was deeply bothered, and quickly took him out. It's been two weeks since then, and, yesterday two suddenly died. I checked on them and they seemed fine an hour before two out of four died.
When I went back in one already died, and the other was dying. He couldn't stand on his legs, like he was paralyzed. A few minutes later, he became droopy, leaned over on his side, and started gasping, giving a tiny twitch here and there. In a matter of a few minutes, he was dead. We have the other two, cleaned out their pen, gave them fresh food and water, and turned off the heat lamp, since their the oldest. Several days before the two died, they were having labored breathing, and just wanted to lay down and sleep, not even eat. What did I do wrong? I think their sick. I have two new ducklings now, and I don't want to put them together....
On top of that, one of the ducklings feet is curled, and is leg seems like it is pulled back, like they do when other ducklings sleep and stretch them out. I tried taping it. but I heard on another thread that they said it's like... "asleep" What hould I do? And what sickness do you think the ducklings have? Any cures?
