I have a three week old baby chick that has started to be inactive and lethargic the last couple days. They have been vaccinated for Mereks and coccidia. She eats but just isn’t zipping around like the rest. Any thoughts ? They are in the house in a nice big brooder, plenty of fresh feed and water. She seemed fine till the last few days. Help ??? I think she’s one of my French black copper Marans.

What feed are you feeding?
What is the exact temp of the brooder?

Can you pick up some Corid this morning?

Tractor supply chick starter/grower. Temp is around 80, they have plenty of room to move to or from the heat. And I work 3rd shift and got home little while ago and after feeding all the horses and other chickens, I have to get some sleep. And I live quite a ways from town. But I can probably get some tomorrow morning.

Is the feed the medicated kind?

No, I got the chicks from Murray and they said not to feed the medicated since they are vaccinated.
Great...I was just double checking.
Can you take a short video of how she is acting and upload it to YouTube?

I did happen to see her poop a while ago and it looks completely normal. I will video her tomorrow and post. Had them outside today for the first for about half an hour. She seemed to enjoy the fresh air and scratched around like the rest. But she’s just not as active as the rest.

Is she smaller than the rest? Are her feathers less developed than the others? Do you have any toys in the brooder that might have had a small piece come off where she could eat it? Do you have any stray flies around the brooder area that she might have caught?
