Mike brought home this baby duck from the river where it had been dropped by a seagull. He really wants to live. But he keeps his head down on the ground and keeps walking backwards. How do I nurse him?

I'm going to give this a bump so others may chime in. The main thing is to keep him warm, first.

One thing I know about gulls is that they often grab the duckling around the middle, squeezing them and possibly causing internal damage. I hope the little guy is still alive today.

Ok, I'd suggest winding up a washcloth into a donut shape, put him in the middle, that should help him not tip over. Vitamins (Sav-a-Chick, etc) added into water. Food and temp as in here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/750869/raising-and-caring-for-ducklings
