sick barred rock!!

My barred rock I noticed yesterday she is doing like this weird cough kind of sounds like a smokers cough but she only does it once every say 5-10 minutes. Is there any way to cure this?

I have not dealt with this but I would separate her from the others, you may be able to treat with vetRx.... Honey and garlic are also good immune builders.
sorry I cant help more but there are some bad respiratory things that can affect chickens

How old is your barred rock? I'm asking because I have two barred rock chicks - age 9 weeks - and one began making a similar sound last week. At first I thought she was choked on a cicada! It continued and then began to change to a honking sound.

Checking other threads, I learned that her voice was changing. Seems like some birds, including barred rocks, go through a phase where they make a coughing/hacking/honking sound that is totally normal.

Don't know the age of your barred rock but wanted to throw that out there in case it was a possibility.
