Sick broody maybe...

My broody has been laying on some eggs and they are currently hatching, but she is not looking so great her comb is now a pale pink and she is losing feathers(but i have heard that the losing of the feathers is from being broody) She still seems pretty alert. Is she okay, is it just from being cooped up?????

Check and make sure that the nest and hen are not infested with mites. They can cause anemia in setting hens. Hopefully all is well and she will regain her strength now that the chicks are hatching.

What would cause the mites to come????? If it is mites will they hurt the chicks????
