My buff orpington is 3 or 4 years old and has been super sick recently. She is super light and can barely walk. Has a hard time supporting her weight. She started getting sick on maybe Monday and originally I thought it was worms, so I gave her some dewormX, but no worms came out in her poop (diarrhea). So then I started giving her 20% corid in her water with electrolytes.

She still eats like normal, isn't egg bound, and drinks water like normal. Poop is runny. No other hens with symptoms

Did the hen lose all that weight since Monday? Was she normal as of last weekend? What were her first symptoms on Monday that called your attention to her?

Do you have a tube feeding kit? This hen should be tube fed immediately to stop the starvation trend or she's going to die.

She was normal as of last weekend. Issues started Monday or Tuesday. I have no feeding kit but she eats like normal

If she's lost a lot of weight in spite of eating normally, I fear she likely has tumors. She has the "look" of a chicken in the later stages of cancer. With all other illnesses, a chicken will not be eating.

Listen to her breathing. Is there any raspy sound as she breathes in and out? Her comb is dusky, indicating poor oxygen uptake.

I can't hear her breathing but yes. I think it might be chicken cancer.

I also have a 4 year old dark brahma hen. She stopped eating about a week ago. No mites, worms, ect. She will eat a bit of mash that I made but not enough to survive. Now she started sleeping in the nest box at night. Very wobbly, yet manages to make it into the run where she stays till dark. I've thought about bringing her into the house. Any ideas?
