Sick Buff Orpington

omg.. she is so much wose.her face is so swollen. I think I know what it is. I put some Tetracycline Hydrochloide in the water bin. Can't find Baytril to buy and can't find a doc who will see a chicken..I am so mad.

Calling around still will let u know Thanks!

Cindy,

Bluebell is a sweet little pullet! :)

I am almost 100% that Honey has IB (Infectious Bronchitis) I saw a picture online of a chicken that had it and she looked exactly like Honey. I still can't find a vet to look at her. I put her in a seperate cage so the others wont peck her eye. :-(

I fed her the medicine solution in a dropper , she got a good amount.

I'm going to try and order the Baytril online right now..

Oh good! Hang in there. That stuff seems to work quickly. Maybe because they are so small.

I am so nervous about Bluebell still - her mouth is still a little yucky and she still won't drink water on her own.

Life sure would be easier for us if they could talk!

lol, yes it would! I think I said the same thing to one of my dogs the other day.

Well, Cindy I have been hearing that there's a good chance of recovery so I am going to say, that both Bluebell and Honey are going to pull through and live a long time..I'll let you know how she is tomorrow :)

Have you been cleaning the coop? or putting in new hay or straw? Fan or windy lately. Noticed any mold in the corn or feed? Is she scratching in the dirt okay? Check for mold in the watering can or the ground around the water supply? Need more information.

Hi Mike,

Im almost positive it's Infectious Bronchitis. I over-nighted some Tylan and it should arrive today. I noticed that some of the toher girls are wheezing, so I will trweat the whole flock.

once this is over, I will empty out the Hen House and disinfect everything.
