Hi everyone, I have a Golden laced Wyandotte about 1 1/2 weeks old who is not doing so good.

She has been breathing super fast and when she chirps she makes almost a popping noise ( like popping bubbles). She also hasn't grown the only thing that has grown is some wing feathers but that is it. About the 3rd day I had her she had some white mucusy poop and I got amprolium then it went away. She also sleeps alot, besides eating and drinking she sleeps. She occasionally will get up to peck around but that's only 1 minute of her day. All of the other chicks are perfectly healthy its only my one girl that isn't doing well. Please help me, what can I do for her?

Is it too hot for her? Is she holding her wings apart from her body? Is she snotty? Can you see anything stuck in her throat?

Please post some photos of the chick, her poop and your brooder.

How warm is it in your brooder - give temp of the warm side and of the cool side.

What are you feeding?

I am feeding her IFA chick starter. My house is 75°, but where the chicks are is around 85° to 90°.90° to 95° with the heat lamp on the warm side around 85° to 90° on the cool side, sometimes cooler

I don't have pictures of the poop but last time she did it was green with white on the end and was a little watery but still solid.

What's the styrofoam for, to keep them in or for heat?

They are 1 1/2 wks, I would raise the lamp and try it around 85F. Let the cool side be your house temp (75F) if possible. You may not have enough room. You only want one warm spot in a brooder, let all the rest be as cool as possible.

The styrofoam is likely holding in quite a bit of heat too.
