We have 3 Bantam Salmon Faverolle chicks they were 3 weeks old on Wednesday, 1 roo and 2 hens. We have been feeding them medicated chick food. Yesterday afternoon the roo started acting lethargic and was sleeping alot and when he gets up he stumbles and walks on his own feet. He is eating and drinking. He just seems weak.

He is also not as big as the 2 hens. We put some terramycin in his water and gave him some cooked eggs and sugar water. He still seems to be the same. Any ideas or suggestions on what it could be or what to do. These are the first chicks we have raised. Thanks

What kind of litter are they on?
How are their poops? Loose, firm? What colour?
What are they in? Is it drafty? Could he be too hot or too cold? What is the temperature that you have them in?
Could he have gotten into anything that might've made him sick, like some food that fell on the floor and got wet and mouldy?

They are on pine shavings. The poop seems to be a little loose but it is brown with white in it. It is not drafty they are in the house in an old fish tank that we set up as a brooder. No moldy wet food it is cleaned out daily. Under the lamp it is 95. The hens are fine, scratching the shavings, running around. It is just him. I did put a little gatoraid mixed with water in there and he did drink some of that. I dont know he just doesnt act right.

Well he seems to be getting worse, now he is just sitting there shaking, I have tried just about everything I can think of to help this little guy. I have given him gatoraid, sugar water, cooked egg, terramycin. I am at a loss don't know what else to do or try. Someone please help!

Get some Poly-Vi-Sol (liquid baby vitamins/supplement) that can be bought at any drug store. Give it a couple of drops in it's beak and add some to it's water ASAP. Give it drops twice a day. It sounds like a vitamin deficiency/malabsorbtion issue that usually hits around 3-4 weeks old. Starts with lethargic and sleepy then limp neck/crook neck then spinning in circles or walking backwards.
