I'm so sorry about your little baby.....it's so sad. I just finished 3 hatches....lost 4 Araucanas to pasty butt in the first, second hatch only 2 BCM's out of 8 with 2 dead in their shell, and last hatch was 3....1 dead in the shell, 2 araucanas and an olive egger and lost another Araucana to pasty butt. I know it's all part of chicken keeping but I always rack my brain on what I could have done differently or better to prevent these things. Sometimes I think you just can't. Hang in there

I just purchased 4 four day old Americana chicks. Hope to avoid all the downfalls of raising chicks since this is my first time. We are trying to build up a younger flock for the spring...Green eggs and ham for breakfast
