I noticed one of my 7 week old chicks sneezing; I watched it for a while and noticed it stumbling a bit; upon picking it up I noticed subq emphysema under the top part of the wing; it is drooling and acting sick. What is wrong? Should I put it down or can it recover?

I segregated the chick in a box with newspaper; there is quite a bit of watery secretions mixed with white...probably diarrhea. The chick is not longer wheezing or sneezing, acts alert and chirping normally.
What is going on?

The chick has had a somewhat formed greenish stool now, no more diarrhea. Do chickens vomit? Maybe all the clear/white stuff came from above and not below? It is acting normal now. They have recently been put outside, although crop is not enlarged.

Well this chick was eating, drinking and running around, but I still had a bad feeling about the air bubble under the skin and it was rather a runt, the feathers never really came in, and there was evidence that it may have been getting pecked at, the skkin in the back was red. It only was making the occasional gurgling noise.
Not knowing if this could affect the flock, we just culled it tonite so as not to affect the others.
