I have had a little bantam chick that has been kicked out of the flock so to speak. I found the larger hens attacking her this morning when I went to feed. Her eyes will not open and she is nearly lifeless. I administered a T50 shot and brought her up to the house to put her close to a heat lamp. I wonder why the other birds won't leave her alone?

Because the chick is the new one there and it's like the older ones think that this is there territory not the chicks. Its the same when you get new chickens and add the to the flock that you have there will always be a Pecking order.. when this chick is older try introducing it to the older ones but keep the chick in a mesh cage so they can see the chick but not touch it . It is normal. horrid to see I know.
