Thanks, they're very pretty.

Your story sounds basically just like ours...we lost a chick a few weeks ago at 2 weeks old. Seemed fine, then lethargic and gone in a matter of 10 to 12 hours. Cleaned her vent just to be sure that what was there was not hindering her system, tried to get her to drink/eat, not running away, peeping when picked up. We thought maybe she was just weak or had been clogged up but then a couple of days later one of our others began acting the same way. I feed that one with a dropper all night every hour and she made it through the night and we started on Corid the next day. I think they may have had cocci, since they can be sick and not have bloody poop which we thought was a must for diagnosis. Either way, they are all doing great now and we are glad we treated them. If you get another one acting sickly you may want to give them a 5 day dosage of Corid.

Sorry about your loss, I know how helpless you feel when that happens. This is our first time with chicks and I was heartbroken!
Good luck with the rest of your babies!
