Sick Chick!

Hi there, i have a about 5-6 week old chick from the feed store who is very fatigued, puffed up and slouching back. I have just previously had a death of her sisters. I am giving her electrolytes, keeping her warm and hoping for the best. Pease help!!!!!

I would give her some yogurt mixed with chick feed and a lot of water, and get her drinking some fluids. As soon as you can go to the feedstore and buy some Corid to treat for possible coccidiosis. Dosage is 2 tsp of liquid Corid or 1.5 tsp of powder Corid per gallon of water. Divide that by 4 if using a quart waterer. Treat for 7 days, and make sure that she is drinking the treated water. Change it daily.

Symptoms of coccidiosis are sleepiness, weakness, no appetite, and runny poops, sometimes orangy or bloody.
