Hi! Thanks for writing. I just noticed her acting strangely today and staying on the other side of the yard from the rest of the flock. I put her in a clean dog crate with food and water and a heat lamp and thought I might try to treat her for mites tomorrow in case that’s it but I really have no idea. I not sure if she’s even laying yet so I don’t know about eggs but she is eating a little. Her Skin does seem pretty dry. She’s very young and has seemed healthy til now...How old is she and how long has she been acting sick? Can you get her some electrolytes and water with a small cup up to her beak. If you have something like Poultry NutriDrench give her 2 ml slowly. Is her skin and comb dry and flakey? Has she been laying eggs recently? Has she lost weight in her breast, or does her lower belly feel full and bloated? How does her crop feel—empty or full, hard or puffy? Yellow skin can be paleness, but it also could be liver failure.
Also I will get some electrolytes tomorrow- thanks! Our chicken is acting very sick and has a yellow face and closed eyes. Any ideas on how to help her? Photo attached:
This morning I noticed that she is having diarrhea but her face seems much less yellow and more red and normal looking so I think that’s a good sign. She is eating but seems very light and her crop is not full.Hi! Thanks for writing. I just noticed her acting strangely today and staying on the other side of the yard from the rest of the flock.
