sick chicken any ideas

One of my chickens is lethargic and almost acting like she has died. When I pick her up she looks fine she has a soft abdomen, so I don't think she is egg bound. I did give her some calcium just to be on the safe side. I checked for bugs and mites and didn't see anything, when I picked her up she pooped on me of course, it looks normal light and dark in it.

she's about 3 years old and the only other thing that happened recently is a skunk got into our chicken coop! none of the chickens were hurt and the skunk will not be coming back!

Glad you could join the flock! Sorry to hear you have a poorly hen Has she been wormed? What is her poop like? Is she eating and drinking ok? Thanks for writing back to me! Shortly after I posted that she passed away not sure what caused it, but I think she might have had a heart attack or something to that effect.

Hi and welcome to BYC - I am sorry to hear of the loss of your bird. You will likely not get to the bottom of what caused her demise, but i hope that you gain comfort from knowing that you did what you could to help her.

sorry for your loss. If the skunk attacked any of your birds, she may have seen it. Often victims and bystanders may go into shock.
