I noticed this morning that one of our hens is not her usual self. She's very lethargic and drinking a ton of water. She also had watery poo with white/yellow mixed in. I felt her crop and it was enlarged and mushy. I tilted her upside down and emptied her crop but it was just water. I have put her by herself with just water mixed with ACV. Any suggestions as to what is wrong with her??? Sour crop? She just had spray diarrhea and potentially red streaks mix, kinda hard to tell. She's my daughter's favorite...please help!!!

How old are the hens? Red streaks in diarrhea can sometimes be from coccidiosis, though not all droppings from cocci will cause blood. Make sure that her crop is not just slow to empty from being sick with cocci or something else. Coccidiosis is most common in young chickens under 20 weeks old, but can be seen in older ones as well. Symptoms may include sleepy, puffed up or hunched chickens, poor appetite, ruffled feathers, and runny droppings, sometimes with mucus or blood. Increased thirst in hot weather can cause runny droppings. Check the crop at first light before she has eaten or drunk anything to see if it is empty.
