So, our lovely chicken Henrietta was suffering from strange symptoms after hurricane matthew hit. We had moved her from our home to a different location where other chickens were around and we believe that is how she may have caught this. At first she was only slightly limping which seemed strange but nothing terrible so we assumed maybe she simply injured herself and that it would go away.. but no it got progressively worse. Soon, she could barely walk and her wing would almost drag on the ground and she would fall asleep all the time! she could barely get up. We started giving her vitamins and daily antibiotics and slowly but surely she seems to be getting better! What we are giving her is: Terra-Vet 10 (tetracycline hydrochloride soluble powder) (this is the antibiotic) we got it at our local feed store. The vitamins are baby vitamins called poly-vi-sol enfamil which we got at CVS. Hope this helps fellow chicken owners into saving your feathery friends!
I feel the need to specify the vitamins were the ones with no iron in them! and another symptom she had was diarrhea which came out as greenish poop. Will be more than happy to answer other questions
