I'm new to raising chickens but I think one of my 7 hens is sick. She's sleeping a lot, barely eating and drinking. I separated her from the flock so I'll see how she's pooping but she just doesn't look good, please help! I will note that it is very hot here but my other hens are doing ok

This is what she looks like

Hi @smorris2 :frowWelcome To BYC

Does she have a runny nose?
Why is the front of her wet looking - is it from the nose, fluid coming from the beak, etc.?
When was the last time she laid an egg?
How does her crop feel?

Try to keep her fairly cool and as comfortable as you can.

I'm not sure why she looks wet, I've been hurt so I don't know how long it's been since she laid an egg

Can you make sure that she is drinking water? Gatorade or Pedialyte could help, or add some SaveAChick electrolytes to the water if possible. Are her eyes closed most of the time? How old is she? What do you feed her? Has it been hot there? Try to see if she will take some chopped egg or canned tuna, in addition to some of her feed with water added to make it thin. When she passes some droppings, describe them or take a picture.

I have a chicken who looks just like that! its so sad because she is my oldest and dearest hen Ginger. she is about three years old. she hasnt been laying for about a year now and was hale and hearty that whole time so I wasnt too worried about that (tho she was previously a faithful egg a day summer or winter). any way she has been growing slightly more and more lethargic for the past month or more, comb is droopy and pale. she is losing weight. the thing is, last summer i had a chicken get sick and die over a period of about 2 weeks. she was so weak in the end she couldnt move, I was giving her water and B12 with an eyedropper, checked her crop, warm soaks, checked her vent the whole nine yards. in the end she was just skin and bones. Two weeks ago I had a barred rock who had just hatched three chicks (sat on 12) and over the course of 2 DAYS she became lethargic and just up and died! what is happening? are these three things related? do chickens get worms or any other sort of wasting disease? PS no signs of respiratory illness in any of them. Please help!
