The chicken that is laying the eggs with the blood on it is not doing to good I have been keeping her from laying around but it doesn't seem to work she just wants to rest. What can I do to make her more comfortable?

I have had hens lay eggs with an occasional blood smear on them. It was never an "ongoing" thing. Often it was because the eggs had extra calcium "nodules" on the outside of the shell that probably scratched them coming out. The hens never were lethargic or "mopey" and laying about afterwards. I would think based on what you've shared that there's something more going on here.

Have you checked her butt to see if there's actual bleeding evident? Or is the bleeding internal only? Can you insert a (gloved) finger and see if it comes out bloody? If she's laying with eyes closed, it probably means she is in pain. I'm sorry I can't help more. Hopefully one of the more experienced folks will come by with some ideas. If there's any further info (age/breed/etc) you could provide, or pictures or both, it would help.

Sorry your girl is feeling well. :(

Leave her alone and let her rest! Pushing and ill bird around WON'T help them.

How long have you been getting bloody eggs? Age and breed of bird? What do you feed including treats and supplements? How big are the eggs in weight? Current weather pattern? Being bullied by other birds while weakened?

Hydration is key! Is she eating or drinking?

:fl

She is about 5 6 months old. I feed them crumble layer food, grit, oyster shell, and sometimes egg shells. It's been about 2 weeks there is a lot of blood on them. I checked her outside but not inside. She is eating and drinking

"There is a lot of blood on them" I'm sorry to say is pretty subjective... Can you post a pic of what you are seeing? That would be extremely helpful. Is there blood on HER? We really need to see a picture of her OTHER end... her pretty face doesn't really help with this issue, though she is quite pretty.

She ended up dying

Awwww.... I'm so sorry :hit

HATE it when that happens... Sorry we weren't able to help :( I'm guessing that she suffered internal damage of some sort which caused internal bleeding and she probably bled out. Reading back, I'm sorry if I sounded "snarky"... that wasn't my intent. Always tough to loose them.

Will you perform a necropsy to try and determine what happened? Perhaps you could refrigerate her and send her off to your state lab for them to do? At least then you'd know what happened and why she died. I understand it's not that expensive.
