One year old Australorp stands around all sluggish, not eating/water. Moved her into the house away from my other chickens. She is just standing and when I put a small roost bar in she sits on it for hours and hours. Runny yellowish poop. I've checked for egg bound, sour crop, injuries..... nothing. She's been in the house now for three days without much change.......still yellow poop. I've dosed with Eprinex for worms this a.m. She's been moved to the garage in a large wire crate, no change in behavior.

Please give me a hand. I've ran out of ideas.

Do you have any pictures of droppings? Ivermectin (Eprinex) may have lost some effectiveness against worms, due to it’s overuse for mites. Have you seen any signs of worms? I prefer Valbazen or SafeGuard(fenbendazole ) for treatment of worms. Is she holding her tail up or down?

Dose she normally lay eggs, and have you seen any soft shell eggs or broken eggs inside your coop? At her age, she could be suffering from an early reproductive disorder. Do you have any human calcium with vitamin D tablets? I would give her 1 orally every day for several days. Also if you have any amoxcillin or Aqua Mox, I would consider using some.

No sign of worms that I can see in the poop. I don't push them in the winter and they've (5) just started laying. I don't know if she's laid one of the six eggs I've gotten in the last week and a half. I have three young girls (2022) of which she is one of and two from 2018, two are fully retired from 2015. I've gotten one misshaped egg from one of the birds. The brown eggs are from the younger girls and the whiter egg is from one 2018 girl. No broken or soft that I've seen. I sat her in warm water for a half hour and then gently checked inside of her.... no egg or broken shells.

The bright yellow urates which normally should be white, is a big sign that she may have a reproductive disorder, and possible liver problems. I would try to get and start antibiotics, either Aqua Mox 250 mg from Allivet.com or enrofloxacin 10% liquid from Jedds.com.

No one carries either in our Area and to order it I need a prescription....... I'm not sure she's going to make it to when it would be delivered.
