Hey everybody! One of my white leghorns has come up sick all of the sudden. She's acting lethargic and her tail is extremely droopy. It almost looks like she is sitting down. She is having diarrhea as well. She's still clucking and everything but she looks terrible. We have her isolated in a brooder with food and water. Does anyone know what might be wrong with her and how I can help her? Thanks so much!

I would consider giving her a human calcium citrate tablet with d 3 orally or a Tums, in case she is egg bound. I would also offer mushy wet chicken feed with a bit of egg up to her beak to get her hydrated and some energy. Does she walk or sit on her hocks? Could she have been injured? What do you feed her? I might offer some human b complex tablets 1/2 tablet a day orally in case she has a riboflavin vitamin deficiency.

Thank you for your help! It looks like she may be sitting on her hocks. And she is having really bad diarrhea. We feed her Nature's Best Organic Egg Layer chicken feed. How do you suggest giving her the pill?
