Hi everyone. I am a longtime reader, first time poster. I recently picked up a new Rhode Island red for my small coop. I picker her up a night, so rather than introducing her then, I kepy her in the transport cage over night. She acted very traumatized ober the move and laid on the floor of the cage and it sounded like she was snoring. Every now and then she would make a sound like coughing or sneezing. The next morning I placed her in the coop with the others and she immedieately established herself as dominate. The rest of the day she spent piocking on the others and eating/drinking. Later that evening, she laid an egg. The whole day she didn't make any weird noises. At night, she laid at the coop doorway, didn't roost, and began making the snoring type sounds again. Do hens snore or could she have a respitory problem?
