I have a 1 yr old barred rock that we raised from a baby that is not doing so well. She lauds around all day looking exhausted and pathetic lady night her stool was a runny white. She puts up no fight with me now which before she was a little aggressive. She had been like this for 2 days was going it was just heat exhaustion but she does not seem to be getting better.all my other hens are healthy and vibrant.done others said it might be a stuck egg what is the solution for that? She does have some poop on her rear end she won't leave the coop she just plops down. Yesterday she still was eating and drinking. Today she just got up and I made her her down from the roost.any help is appreciated. Harlequin appreciates the concern too :)

It could be a number of things. First offer her some water with vitamins and electrolytes in it (SaveAChick, Pedialyte, and Gatorade will do.) Look closely at her vent, and check inside her vent 1-2 inches with a gloved finger for a stuck egg. If you feel one, give her a Tums or a calcium tablet orally, and place her in a shallow pan of warm water for 20 minutes to see if she will pass the egg. If there is no egg. look her skin over for any signs of very tiny lice or mites, or their eggs. Check her crop to see if it is empty, full, soft, or hard. Check her feet and legs for any swelling, redness, or bumblefoot. Feel of her breast bone (keel) to see if she has lost weight, and feel her lower abdomen to see if she is swollen or has a swollen tight belly. If she has not been recently wormed, I would worm her. Valbazen and fenbendazole (SafeGuard liquid or paste) is good.
