Sick chickens/turkeys - respiratory??? HELP

I was hoping never ever to be in this situation. I've had chickens for years and have been blessed with a healthy flock. But now my babies are sick. I have a flock of about 50 chickens/turkeys and half of them are sick. I discovered this on Saturday night:

Nasal discharge
Sneezing and noise that sounds like coughing???
Watery, swollen shut eyes

They appear to be eating and drinking though - which is good but they look and sound so sick.

I ran out to TSC and bought what they had in stock - Duramycin - and started treating first thing Sunday. As of last night they don't appear to be any better. I've been doing a lot of reading online and see mixed results with Tylan.... It's so expensive I'm not sure if I should order it and have it not work or if Duramycin will treat them.

If anybody can help or offer suggestions, PLEAAAAAASE!

I am sorry about your babies. Are your turkeys and chickens seperated? How old?

I have heard that your suppose to keep the turkeys and chickens seperated until they get bigger but that is only what I have heard sorry.

Turkeys are notorious for carrying MG. They should be kept seperate from chickens and strict bio security measures used.

There are a couple of states like Michigan that are MG free for turkeys. I recommend anyone getting them to purchase from those states.

They are 5-6 months old now. The Dixie Rainbows are the youngest chickens and they are ones that show the worst sign of being sick.

MG is one of the mycoplasma (mycoplasma gallisepti-something?? sp?) ickies. Once your flock is infected, they are always carriers--and can shed it to other birds at any time. It's like a virus, so it doesn't respond to antibiotics. I would suggest googling it (it's not pretty).

Oh God. Thank you, I will look.

I had scheduled the processing of the meat birds and turkeys for just before Thanksgiving. Now, even if they get better, I don't know that I will want to process.

Their symptoms are so similiar, Infectious Corza and MG. It seems the only real way to know is to have a necropsy done. If anyone has treated for Corza or MG will you please let me know your findings... or if you had to cull your entire flock
