Sick chickens

Thanks. I i'm treating him right now with tylan 50 but this is only the second day. I hope to see results soon. It doesn't seem like she is getting any worse since I started giving it to her but it also doesn't seem like she's getting any better. If anything does happen to her I'm scared to get any more birds afraid that I will have to go through the same thing again.

She does have pinkeye-- conjunctivitis, which in chickens can be due to mycoplasma (MG) or coryza. Do you ever notice a bad odor from the face which is common with coryza? Tylan is very good for symptoms, although a vet can prescribe better medicines. Tylan 50 can be given orally, which I would prefer, as well as injecting it into the breast muscle. Dosage is 0.2 ml per pound, so weighing is a good option. Give it 2-3 times daily for 5 days. Both mycoplasma and coryza will make your whole flock carriers for life, so best to close the flock to new birds.

Ok. Thanks for all your help. I went out today to give them their injections in the one seems to be doing a bit better at least she can close her back now. We are before her when I was so swollen it was keeping her beak open

Applying a warm compress to the eye while you are holding her for a few minutes can help to get the crusted eye drainage off. Then you can use some Terramycin Eye Ointment applied into the eye twice a day to help treat the conjunctivitis. If you pus, then it needs to be removed.
