sick chickens

I have a friend that has some sick hens. They have snot coming out of there nose and eyes are sometimes swollen up. they "cough" alot, or atleast it sound like it. Not quite sure what it is so I told him I would post a thread on hear to try to find out. thanks joe

he said every once in a while they do but it is more of a snorting. he said that today they look good but it comes and goes.

If any new birds have been brought in, I would suspect respiratory illness form the newbies.

Duramycin and Tylan are both used with great success. Duramycin is mixed in the water and treats the whole flock...Tylan is injectable.

Yes, I suspected a respritory problem. Some are cureable and some just come and go. Check out this list to see if any match:

There is also a Tylan powder, it is also administered through the water. This is a more expensive product that is about $40-50. Denaguard is also a good product.
