These are the california chicks that we rescued from the abandoned box in TSC...spouse and I are having a disagreement about them.
These birds had sour crop when we got them, I think, though they seem to be doing better on that front. They also have explosive liquid stools, and are making, for lack of better description, weird gutteral noises.
I'm thinking these birds were sick when they got here from terrible conditions and treatment.
The dilemma (they're currently in our garage, away from the big birds outside) is that we have babies also in the garage in a seperate pen...six little 2 week olds.
I'm afraid these birds are going to make the nice ones we paid for (including my araucana and silver laced bantam!) diseased. I don't want to start that.
