hello guys I need some advice from some experienced duck owners I have a pekin duck goat recently had some ducklings about 3 weeks ago and about 1week ago I noticed her right foot was a bit on the swollen side the higher part (the knee)including the heel it's not to hard to the touch but def swollen now she is limping pretty heavy ...has anyone had any issue like this and could maybe tell me what I'm up against

I had one that injured hers somehow a week or so ago and was barely putting weight on it. I took her swimming each day as long as she tolerated it and within bout 4 or 5 days she is almost back to normal. The water helps big time. I also washed her feet really Welland made sure there were no sores cuts or bumbles. You can try some added vitamins to help too. If she's with momma she shouldn't need extra niacin as long as they are let out to free range for goodies. If not, you can add some nutritional yeast or Brewers yeast to feed. If it's just a lil strain and nothing broken or wrong with tendon the time soaking and swimming should help it out

Thank you but maybe I think you think I'm talking about one of the babies it is momma duck

I did think you were talking bout baby but duck that was i had that was limping last week isn't a baby either.. was just saying that babies sometimes do it cuz of deficiency in certain vitamins. But if it's momma then I would definitely try the water. You can soak the leg in Epsom salt to for 10 or 15 mins everyday. I just let my girl spend as much time as she wanted swimming and soaking. And, gave her plantain from the yard to help with imflamation. She was all good in bout 5 days.
