Hello, duck sick.. 1 of my 2 yr old ducks got sick after freeranging with 4 month old chickens. Her symptoms are weight loss, lethargy, staying to herself. Very little drinking and not eating much. Isolated her 3 days ago first day I gave her warming medicine she only ate a few peas and would drink a little. second day she wasn’t better so hears it might be cocci, so I changed out her water and gave her water with Corid. She will still drink a little. third day still not eating could it possibly be anything else? And now it seems I have a second duck that’s looking the same. Thanks for any help. :(

The symptoms are non specific so it’s hard to say, it could be many thing.

Is there any chance you think they could have swallowed something? Many metals are toxic, also has there been pesticides sprayed in the last few months?

It could be bacterial or viral, maybe they caught something from the chickens or from their environment.

What do their droppings look like and could you post a picture?

Today she ate some peas. But will not touch regular food or anything else... but I did give her a oral dose or corid also. And she drank some water after the peas. This is water her poop looked like after that.

I had put some paper down I thought it would be easier to see but it looks like most of that water soaked up and only the peas stuff was left. And there was one more odd thing. When I got out to check on her this morning , I found this weird thing just laying in the pine shavings. I think it looks like a very premature egg but I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it before.

I wonder if it’s a lash egg? And if it is will she get better now?
That does look like a lash egg that had started decaying internally.

If so then your duck has a serious reproductive infection that needs treatment immediately, a vet would be able to better figure out what’s going on and prescribe treatment but if that isn’t possible you can try getting baytril, it’s also called cipro, ciprofloxacin, and enrofloxacin https://www.countrysidepet.com/collections/fish/products/fish-aid-ciprofloxican-250-mg
The dosage according to poultrydvm is
10-15 mg/kg PO, SC, IM q12-24h or 50 mg/L drinking water.

Reproductive infections can sometimes stem from other health problems unfortunately so it’s hard to say if this is the only issue.

Thanks so much for this info. Hopefully i can try those antibiotics and see if she gets better. Thank you For sharing!!!
