This morning I went to check on our girls and found one was not moving a lot. She seemed to be sleeping and didn't try to get away from me when I went to pick her up. None of them like to be picked up. On further inspection I found she has yellow diarrhea. I came inside to try to do some research. When I went back outside I found a long mucous strand coming from her behind. I'm not overly familiar with duck anatomy so I'm not sure of the exact terms. She is not eating or dinking. I'm not sure if it's another symptom or if they are still molting but her feathers don't look as good. I've brought her inside to be with me. She just stood there for awhile and now she just laid down. Any suggestions or ideas? We do not have an avian certified vet in our area so I'm not so sure about taking her to the local vet.
While writing this her head started swaying back and forth. Then she started flapping her wings trying to get up. She just collapsed on her side and died. What just happened? The poor thing!
This is before she laid down.
She laid down like she was trying to sleep.
