Sick duckling?

I will put some regular crumbles in there. Everyone else is eating it no problem. He doesn't even try. I've tried putting some on my finger hoping he'd peck at it, but he doesn't peck.

The reason I suggested to use the crumbles for all is because telling a duckling which is his food is like herding cats. Then when they are all doing fine, you can switch back.

Maybe try crumbles with water? Make a mash? Mine ate that the first few days.

So I think I saw him feebly attempting to eat, but go figure, he tried in the last part of the trough that had no food
Ive got the fermented mash on one side and dry crumbles on the other. It is chock full of food now, so hopefully he has enough strength to try again.

Does he need grit to eat scrambled egg?

Yes he does. Do you have any Poultry Nutri Drench? you can give him tiny drops right into his bill it's great stuff. I would get this TSC carries it. Tiny drops never down the throat.

I'm afraid if he doesn't begin to eat soon you'll lose him.

I looked for it, but we don't have a tractor supply or similar store near by. I'm not very hopeful for him honestly, I just really didn't want to have to euthanize.

Just curious, why clear water as opposed to water with vitamins, etc.?

I was told to provide clear water and water with electrolytes. So, my ducks have two dishes of water as well as a dish of dry crumbkes and a dish of wet.
