I have a 5 day old call duckling who is sneezing and has a runny nose. Other than that, she seems to have a normal amount of energy. She is eating and drink fine. She has a dish she can fit her whole head into to clear her nostrils. Her brooder is very clean. Should I be worry about my other duckling getting sick too? Any advice is appreciated.

Is she only sneezing after/during drinking? They do that to clear their nostrils and sometimes water comes out for a while.
If she’s doing it all the time she could be getting sick, but ducks are typically really hardy and resistant to illness in my experience.

Best of luck!

Sounds normal to me. Something similar happened to my Cayuga when she was about 4 days old. If it only happens when it’s eating and drinking then it’s probably nothing and even if it’s not only then but she seems fine it’s probably nothing to worry about.

Thank you! This puts my mind at ease

She does it for longer than I’d expect after drinking, but thank you this helps
