Sick ducklings

The chick food is which is why I was told to mix it so they don’t get too much
I could be wrong but i think there are different protein requirements? Do they have any extra vitamins in water or feed? I'm a new ducky mummy too so just passing on what I've learnt so far. Fingers crossed x

i also agree with not feeding medicated feed.

I don’t have any pictures of my brooder but it is about 3 feet by 2 feed made out of wood and the sides have wood on the bottom half with chicken wire on the top half. They are being fed a mix of chick food and mashed up chicken food as I was suggested to because I cant buy duck food where I am located.
What brand name chick feed and chicken food as in layer feed?

Sorry to hear you lost one! It's hard to guess what could be the problem without being there.
Things to consider. . are they too warm or too cold? At 4 weeks old I would shoot for no warmer than 85 degrees in the warmest spot in your brooder with ample room to get away from the heat as they wish. Being too warm can cause problems as well as being too cold causing dehydration/pasty butt.
Chick starter should be fine for their feed, wether medicated or not in my opinion

However, you will need to supplement with additional niacin in the form of nutritional or brewers yeast (not baking yeast) or liquid b complex.
This is for vitamin b deficiency which is common in ducklings and is probably not the cause of death, just something to look into.
I would consider on my short list,
Temp of your brooder?
What else besides feed could they have eaten?
Did they get too wet and chilled?
You've already confirmed the water was room temperature so that's out.
Check their bottoms for pasty butt. . (is their thick poo blocking the vent)
Of course Sometimes the little things just fail to thrive and we don't know why. :hugs

Oh. . yes. I didn't even think about the mixing thing.
I just assumed they meant chick starter feed.
I wouldn't mix it with anything else besides the nutritional yeast.

Thank you, Temp is normal, they didn’t get wet, and no pasty poo. The only other thing they could’ve eaten was straw
