I am very concerned about my Easter Egger. She has always been a sporadic layer and her eggs are always a little bumpy/gritty. My husband has been feeding and watering them lately. He told me he thought she was acting broody. Yesterday was a nice day so I let them out to free range. She wouldn’t come out. I picked her up and brought her out. She couldn’t stand. She sort of lifted up one leg. And fell over on her side. I inspected her. She looks fine but underweight. I brought her in and gave her a bath. We quarantined her in the garage to monitor her. She’s not eating or drinking. I thought she might be eggbound. So with a gloved hand with Vaseline, I checked. No egg. But some white solid chunks came out on the glove. I checked on her this AM. Hand fed her some water with ACV and warm mash with yogurt. She pooped a bit. It was foul smelling and had those white chunks in it. Does this sound like egg binding/egg broke inside? Or something else? Do you think she has a chance? Or should we consider euthanasia? Feeling bad for May. She is about 2 years old if that helps. Thanks friends!
