Sick Embden goose

Puddles is still not well but eating and drinking water. Talked with a vet today - they don't deal with geese but helped as much as possible. They gave me Panacur 10% and suggested I give her some orally today and repeat in 5-7 days. I believe they were just going by what they could research online. Thanks for all the input I really wouldn't have known what to do without all of the suggestions and information I have gotten from this forum.

Isn't Panacur a wormer? how old is she if she hasn't ever been wormed it may be worms

Yes it is a wormer.....she was wormed a year ago when she came here. She just turned 2, I got her as a companion for my Toulouse. I have been looking up dosing but it varies a lot.... .5cc for 10lbs is what the vet said.

I don't know about dosing I use Valbazen but @casportpony maybe able to help if you don't think the dose they gave you is right.

Panacur is Safeguard and I have used it also.I mixed in water then feed last time I used it though so I hope @casportpony will help with dose per pound.

Sadly this am despite all the efforts in helping my sweet girl failed

She will be sadly missed....her companion Duey is lost without her.

I am so sorry to hear this. But things happen and alot of times they are out of our control. I would try hard to find Duey a companion craigs list local feed store etc. He will be very depressed. again very sorry. She was a beautiful goose.

Thank you....its been a long day. She will be sadly missed....Duey has spent most of his day outside of the duck pen, I think he just wanted to be around other birds. He finally came out and spent some time with me by the pond. It will be an adjustment for all of us
