Hoping someone can help. We have five chicks in our flock. All five weeks old. We keep them inside with their heat lamp but let them in our backyard in their run when we are home. One of our longhorns was fine yesterday but then towards the end of the day I noticed her beak was open and she was very lethargic and staying to herself. She seemed to have difficulty breathing. I tried to encourage her to drink and she acted like she was choking. Heavy gulping sounds. She also has sticky saliva. Her breathing has been okay today but she still has the sticky saliva and extremely lethargic. She isn’t eating or drinking. As far as poops, we they were all together we noticed one poop that had a red tinge to it but we aren’t sure who it came from. Since separating her, she has only pooped once since last night and it was normal looking. Appearances, I noticed a dryness along her beak. She also has a little cut between the toes of her claws.. not sure if that’s related.
