I have 15 geese and have been raising them for 8 years now. I have never had one go down. They live in excellent conditions but this year we've had so much rain in Texas. They range on open field and are housed at night in the Goose-Hilton.
I have a crossbeak named Bill. Bill learned to shovel food and has survived 5 years now. She even hatched a gosling. We pay special attention to Bill because of exposed open mouth - keeping above freezing in Winter and out of heat in Summer.
2 days ago it got real hot real fast here and Bill may have gotten overheated - not going into details but when we went to put everyone up she was on pond, in water up to neck under tree and would not move. Drinking a lot of water. So next day I put Bill in tub of cool water, she kept drinking a lot all day but is not eating.
Poop is bright green, Bill has always been a thin goose but held her own. She has been sitting in tub, not eating drinking lots and lots of water and looks kinda normal but won't get out of tub and won't eat. Poop has lots of white and bright green now.
This happened Friday - today is Sunday. I'm giving Bill .25cc of Baytril 10% oral once a day started yesterday. I don't know whether to start crop feeding her or give her Corrid as a preventative or what. I don't want to throw too many things on the pile right now but I need to do something.
What is the dosage for 9.6% Corrid liquid for geese? I will be mixing it by the gallon and giving it to Bill asap. I suspect Cocci because of the weather and do not have time today to get fecal test - am just going to treat for it. Time is running out and it's Sunday - no one can test.
