We recently bought 4 teenage guinea fowl - not sure how old they are but they still have stripes on their heads. One of them is a little smaller and has a sore eye. Today, I noticed that it had some white stuff in the corner of the eye. I think it is pus, does that mean it is infected? Also, when I was moving the guinea fowl from the cage to the veggie patch, it vomited. Is this normal if it is stressed? It has a lower chirp then the other guinea fowl and it sort of sounds like the quack of a drake. I don't know if I should treat it with antibiotics or just leave it alone.

You can get some Vetericyn eye cleaner to use on the eye or even regular non-medicated people eye drops. It sounds like it may have gotten something in its eye which the white stuff would form around it to help get it out.

As for the quack, each guinea has a slightly different voice. I have one hen that sounds like a duck quacking when she does her buckwheat call.

Thank you!
