My young BLRW (approx 8-9 months old) is not acting right. I noticed last night that she was not so perky and seemed a little dazed. She ate ok and made it to roost. This morning when I let everyone out, I noticed she was wobbly and had a hard time walking. At one point, she seemed "stuck" with one leg forward and one back as if in mid walk. Then she finally moved. Now she is sitting quietly back inside (so she was able to make it down one step to get out and then back in). Earlier she pooped normally and attempted for some food.
She let me pet her while she sat in the sun and I tried to feel around her body for anything noticeable. Crop seems ok....perhaps she is egg bound, will they poop a normal size poop if they are egg bound?
It's just so hard to tell anything or know what to do, so for now I am keeping an eye on her.
Any thoughts, suggestions will be welcome!
added: they have oyster shell, grit and a complete layer feed, so nutritional def are unlikely.
