Hello,
Trying to figure out what is wrong with my 3 year old Buff Orpington hen. I noticed about two weeks ago she had a pale comb. Then about three or four days ago she started acting like she couldn't walk but when I stood her up she would walk a little. She is holding her rear downward. She is eating and drinking fine.
Yesterday evening she was laying down with her feet out to the side. I picked her up and she began walking. Concerned she was eggbound, I brought her in and soaked her in a warm Epsom salt bath and fed her calcium. It has now been about 12 hours and no egg. She is a little lethargic but still perks up when she sees food.
As we have many Buffs, I don't know when she last laid.
Thanks for any help. Our vet doesn't see chickens so hoping there is something I can do to help her.
