Sick Hen - Help Would Be Appreciated

Todays update - My daughter and I were up at 5 am today to go chick on our sick hen. She appeared a little stronger. We have her in a cat crate and the only thing we have left in there with her over night was a bit of yogurt. She vommitted over night and her crop is still like a "water balloon" this morning. From the research I have been doing on this site, it seems like it might be sour crop. She has been free ranging, which apparently can lead to this. We massaged her crop this morning and left a bit of water in with her and still just the yogurt. If anyone has any further advice, it would be appreciated.

Thanks
Luke

If this is new it could mean that the dying process has started. Whatever it is, she needs to be inside where it's warm. You could try monistat or another anti-fungal, that's not going to hurt her.

I had a chicken with impacted crop not too long ago and when I was researching that I came across stuff for sour crop, too. I saw a video on YouTube where a farmer held his hen upside down and massaged the crop and tons of fluid came out. :(
After that, the hen improved. Don't know if you tried it or if she's too sick, but might be worth a shot. Keep us posted....I'm hoping she can recover....this stuff is always heartbreaking. :(

Sorry, I should have posted sooner, but she didn't make it and now we just lost a Rooster to racoons! I'm on the hunt for racoons now!
