Llttle French Hen
In the Brooder
Sick hen help!
I took my little Wilma to the vet on Monday as she seemed below par interested in food but when she got there no she would'nt eat. She is just getting over a lice infestation as are my other girls and her beak needed trimming, never having done this I opted for my vet.. BIG mistake, it took me hours and lots of searching to stop the bleed! And he thought it funny!, The vet gave me wormer, vit bost and antibiotics saying she may have worms or a chest infection.
Yesterday she began squirting out black liquid from her beak, would not eat and was only taking water from a dropper. Although her crop feels empty plenty of dark liquid continued to come up. But after that she was much like her old self I gave her a bath in Epsom salts and a blow dry then she sat in the Sun. All Good
Today she is back to not eating, but is drinking when encouraged, hunched 1 really stinky thick white poop followed by clear fluid, she is also shaking her head. Along with a sticky butt (which is now clean)
They have been wormed this year at the end of March nobody else seems unwell. I feel i'm bouncing from 1 problem to another, she is just standing in her box with her eyes closed hunched up I just don't know what to do?
