Sorry for your loss. Your state vet in Kissimmee can do a necropsy on her body if it is kept cold. That would get a diagnosis. You can drive them there or ship overnight. Here is a list with their number:

Don’t ever say it’s just a chicken. You loved her and it doesn’t matter what kind of animal she is. We had to put our family dog down a couple of years ago, and I can say without a doubt that she was easier to loose then any chicken I’ve ever had. I cry for days, sometimes weeks, when one of my chickens die. Chickens are just as important as dogs to the people who love them. I’m sorry.
