So, can someone help me out with one of our hens? I've been trying to diagnose her for days and I'm just super confused. She had a really poopy butt so I gave her a nice bubble bath which she relaxed in for a good 15 minutes. I got her all cleaned up, plucked and trimmed her feathers, etc. I have been checking her multiple times per day and it's a bit gooey but nothing like it was before. However, her tail is still down and she is just super lethargic. I brought her inside a few days ago and she still wasn't eating. Today she had yogurt and strawberries. So, I've looked at egg binding because she looks like she is straining a lot and it's green, rotten looking stuff coming out of her. I felt around and felt around inside and it feels like there is something small and hard in there but it seems kind of small for an egg. I just don't really know what I'm feeling for. If you insert a finger should you feel anything hard? I also wondered about vent gleet, worms, etc. but I'm confused about how to tell the difference. I've got her on probiotics, vitamins, and oil of oregano. Today I noticed her comb is sort of laying to the side whereas the other ladies are bright and standing up. I'm afraid she is dying and I don't know how to diagnose her to help her. Any ideas?
